Hi everyone

How many Snowkiters out there know of more than 5-10 spots and realistically how many of us are always going to the same location every weekend? The reasons seem simple. One it’s easy and two you know the spot, plus usually nothing can go wrong as everyone you know is going to be there. Understandable, but fortunately while the majority follow the herd there are few who take a different approach… Ronny and Patrick from Switzerland, a couple of the most dedicated snowkiters I have encountered, are completely different! They are by nature true explorers and can probably count visits to more new spots than others have had days out kiting!

I found them last year when I checked their website and saw the crazy adventures they did every weekend discovering places I never even heard of. These were exactly the type of guys I was searching for, snowkiters who were looking for backcountry adventures to explore the Alps all around Switzerland, France and Italy. I hooked up with them whenever possible and we went on a different journey every possible weekend. Using Google earth to look for suitable spots and checking the wind directions we packed our stuff and set off at any opportunity. At this stage Patrick and Ronny could claim to have discovered loads of spots but were still desperate for more.

In this spirit the guys were kept busy over the summer collecting all the information from their travels to create an amazing spot guide website that opens up their explorations to the public and will inspire others to follow the same path. It mirrors exactly what we love and live for – pure adventure and backcountry riding! Check out the amazing work on their website http://www.unhooked.ch/ and go thru the guide where you will find lots of spots around Switzerland, but also locations in Italy and France with essential detailed information about wind direction, how to get there etc.

Now whenever you discover a new spot make sure you save all the details and send them to Patrick and Ronny and they will be happy to add them to the http://www.unhooked.ch/ site which is sure to expand and become THE spot guide for the Alps within the next few years!
